Has the potential to be very good.

I have used BlinkBox quite a lot, mainly for my kids to watch movies - usually one per week. They are 12 and under so there are restrictions on what I will let them watch. I have tried many other streaming services but keep coming back to Blinkbox. I don't want to pay a monthly subscription unless I can get the latest releases but I haven't found anyone offering that.
The movie content on Blinkbox is very up to date. I tend to pay £3.49 to rent a movie which is what I was paying at Blockbusters until my local finally closed down.
As for quality, when watching on a laptop, I opt for SD as I don't see the point of going for HD when looking at a 15" screen from a distance of 8 feet. The video quality is fine however, I do get occasional stuttering which can be annoying. We watched Maleficent at the weeken and the stuttering was particularly bad. I haven't been able to establish if that's down to my Virgin wi-fi or not yet, as when we watched Godzilla the following day on the PS3, the movie played faultlessly. There is no HD option on the... Good when films downloaded to PC.

Having read the other reviews I decided not to attempt live streaming due to me having an unstable broadband connection. Download of a 2.2Gb standard definition film took approx 4 hours.
Play back on a 4 year old windows 7 PC was occasionally a little juddery on sound and vision, but in general was watchable. Play back on a six month old PC running Windows 8.1 was near perfect.
In summary, I would recommend BlinkBox to a friend.

Decent - just need sufficient peering capacity

Films on offer are great, pricing is average comparing to Google play. They need to sort out direct peering with Virgin BT et al and have burst capacity for peak demand as it had buffering incidents every 30 minutes on average. Its good, but they cant skimp on the network. Maybe invest in CDN.
In summary, I would recommend BlinkBox to a friend.

I have streamed and downloaded a number of films and TV shows. I have a 30-36mb average connection. I almost never see the buffering circle of doom and if I do its once in a movie for a few seconds. The site is good and easy to use. I have told friends to use it and they have had no complaints. Its a great site for the casual viewer. I do wish there was a subscription option. If you want to watch movies before any other site this is the place to go.
In summary, I would recommend BlinkBox to a friend.

I wanted to watch Game of Thrones season 3 and Blinkbox is the only legal way to watch this in the UK at present, so I decided to take the risk despite the poor reviews here. I was very pleasantly surprised with the result.
I live in West Yorkshire, have reliable internet speeds of 35Mb (plus.net), and was downloading to a Windows PC with Windows Media Centre connected to my HD TV.
I subscribed easily on the site, and received an introductory credit of £5. I had read some reviews that the blinkbox SD was poor quality so I decided to buy the HD version of Game of Thrones. The HD versions were in 720p. I download the first episode at about 8pm on a Wednesday night, the download took about 5 minutes for a 1hr episode ~ 2Gb (on par with iTunes).
The quality of the download was very good it played smoothly and without problem. However before I could view the video from the Windows Media Centre interface I had to start each file once from the desktop to authorise the DRM. This was one click if you use the download manager from... (Read the full review)

I'd only set up my BlinkBox account a couple of days prior to coming across a problem. I watched the first movie with no problems at all...the good thing is you know you can access them all online, I have a LoveFilm account and its incredibly annoying when you think of a film, search for it to find that it only available by post! So to not worry about that was great, however it came to the second film...Ted...and for some reason when I clicked 'rent' it wouldn't accept payment even though I had more than enough credit in my acount. It was late at night, I couldn't find any suggestions in the FAQs and I didn't trust the 'submit request' option as I'm quite impatient so I just left it and hoped it would sort it's self out by the next day....the next day came and the same problem arose so I had no other option that to 'submit a request' which I did, I received an automated response within minutes telling me that someone would get back to me soon. I couldn't believe how soon it was!! Literally the next time I checked my emails it was there!... (Read the full review)
