Extremely disappointed and frustrated with the level of service Blinkbox provides! We have been trying to watch Argo for 2 days now - the buffering made a what should be a 2 hour long movie into a 48 hour long! Buffering and stopping continued every 10 seconds (yes, we timed it!) The longest we could see of an uninterrupted film was only 5 minutes! I don't believe that any reputable company should be allowed to trade and demand payment for such an appalling service. The system obviously cannot cope with the number of people watching new releases, which causes its breakdown. What should be a pleasant night in watching a new film turns into a prolonged torture of buffering and frozen screen. This level of trading standards should be a case for a Watchdog!

In summary, I would not recommend BlinkBox to a friend.

Impossible to watch a film in the evening. COnstant buffering problems, BB is obviously not capable of dealing with the capacity. Trying to watch a film it can't even get through more than 1 minute without buffering. We wondered if it was our connection, so tried Youtube and Netfilx - were able to play BOTH at the same time without problems. It is now early Sunday morning and we can watch a film on Blinkbox at long last. Seriously Tesco, you need to deliver on the promise. Useless.

In summary, I would not recommend BlinkBox to a friend.

Don't waste your time or money - the buffering issues make films unwatchable. We tested our connection with iplayer and lovefilm and both worked perfectly - blinkbox was awful.

Dreadful service...the buffering is horrendous...and I have a 60mb cable connection. No such problem with iplayer or Lovefilm, although the selection of films on Lovefilm is woeful...avoid Blinkbox until Tesco sort out the buffering issues...I tried it twice and it ruined both films. Don't waste your time or money.

The good points are that this is a good idea and there are lots of movies for reasonable prices. However, it doesn't matter if the movies are free if it takes 3 hours to watch a 2 hour movie because of jerky, stilted streaming and constant stopping to buffer. We stream a lot from Netflix and don't have any problems with that at all, so we conclude it's Binkbox that's the problem. Until Tesco can solve the problems with streaming we say don't bother.

We have reasonable broadband, (consistently 6 to 8 mbits), but buffering issues from the blinkbox site make the viewing experience very disappointing. The Tesco box is just rubbish. It seems to have very little buffer capacity and just cannot cope with any form of network delay. Good idea but extremely poorly executed. I feel its just a waste of money. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Junk, avoid.

Bought several titles to watch while on holiday in Tenerife. I thought that I had bought theses however when i got to tenerife it says that i cannot play the movie, This must mean that I do not own the goods that I thought that I had purchased.

Nobody in customerservices would give me details of how to complain.
This is distance selling and you cannot get a refund. I cannot play the titless that I spend money on.

Therefore you cannot 'own' a movie. How bizarre is that?

DO NOT RECOMMEND AS THEY WILL NOT EXPLAIN IF I OWN THIS OR BLINKBOX.

In summary, I would not recommend BlinkBox to a friend.

I tried Blinkbox on several occasions to try and watch 2 rented films.

We have a PS3 so I tried that first as it's already connected to the TV so nice and convenient.

The quality was terrible. The picture was soft and dull and the motion was jerky and stuttering and buffering every few minutes. The sound seemed OK.

The jerky movement is, in my opinion, a problem with the encoding and the way it is being played in the web browser, not the slow servers. Their slow servers are probably the cause of buffering.

My PS3 is hard-wired to the internet connection (30mbs) not wireless and get good fast speeds on everything else.

Navigating to the web page is a pain on the PS3 not to mention having to put your email and password in - but I suppose that's not really their fault. A built-in app would be nice.

So having failed with the PS3 I went for the PC.

Streaming to the PC was nearly as bad quality wise with the dull image and jerky movement making it very unpleasant to watch. The constant buffering was there again.

So my final effort was to do a local PC download of the 2 movies I rented.... (Read the full review)

I'd only set up my BlinkBox account a couple of days prior to coming across a problem. I watched the first movie with no problems at all...the good thing is you know you can access them all online, I have a LoveFilm account and its incredibly annoying when you think of a film, search for it to find that it only available by post! So to not worry about that was great, however it came to the second film...Ted...and for some reason when I clicked 'rent' it wouldn't accept payment even though I had more than enough credit in my acount. It was late at night, I couldn't find any suggestions in the FAQs and I didn't trust the 'submit request' option as I'm quite impatient so I just left it and hoped it would sort it's self out by the next day....the next day came and the same problem arose so I had no other option that to 'submit a request' which I did, I received an automated response within minutes telling me that someone would get back to me soon. Really good selection of movies sets blinkbox apart from other services. However the navigation and search need improving and the film quality isn't amazing. However compared to other services blinkbox is by far my favourite.
